Tonghai

Lesley is a Cornell PhD student studying the Hui. We decided to take a 2.5 hr bus ride from Kunming to Tonghai, where there are Hui and Mongolian communities. We stayed at "The Hotel California".

Xingmeng is a community of four thousand Mongolians , descendants of an army garrison left behind by Kublai Khan who are now fishermen and blacksmiths.
